Overview

Develop a online campsite booking system for citizens

As the UI/UX designer for this tender pitch, I created visual concepts to help digitize a campsite booking system that previously relied on paper forms. I focused on two key touchpoints: a welcoming, responsive landing page for visitors and a clean management dashboard for campsite staff. The goal was to show how a simple, modern design can make online bookings effortless for users while helping staff manage room availability and daily operations much faster.

Our Goal

We want to create a winning pitch proposal that proves how transforming paper workflows into an intuitive digital experience can drive online bookings and simplify staff operations.

Problem - Campsite Staff

Operational Pain Points

Time-Consuming Manual Logs

Handling bookings via paper forms forces staff to manually check availability, write down details, and process records by hand, leading to slow operations and frequent administrative errors.

High Risk of Overbooking

Without a centralized, real-time database, tracking open slots across multiple campsites or accommodation types (like family tents vs. group blocks) can easily cause double bookings.

Disorganized Guest Information

Paper records make it difficult to quickly locate specific guest details, track unpaid deposits, or manage check-ins and daily cleaning schedules efficiently.

Problem - Guests & Customers

User Pain Points

Frustrating Booking Experience

Relying on paper forms or offline inquiries prevents users from seeing real-time room availability, leading to long wait times just to confirm a reservation.

Lack of Visual Information

Paper forms fail to showcase the facility, photos, local activities, or clear directions, making it harder for potential guests to feel confident in booking a stay.

Poor Mobile Accessibility

Paper-based or outdated inquiry methods don't cater to modern users who expect to browse and submit requests effortlessly on their mobile phones.

Ideation

Exploring interface directions

Using Figma, I harnessed AI-powered generation tools to quickly produce initial layout ideas and iterative concepts for the consumer-facing website. This sped up the ideation phase, allowing me to explore multiple structures and visual identities. For the final responsive designs (seen in the image below), I synthesized these insights into a warm, nature-inspired B2C interface. I prioritized clear calls to action and visual hierarchy—placing the core campsite search filter at the top and showcasing local experiences, ensuring a seamless booking path from desktop to mobile.

Core Challenges

Refining the dashboard experience

Aggressive 1-Week Timeline

Completing both B2C landing page concepts and B2B admin dashboard wireframes/UI in just 7 days required rapid prioritization, fast iterations, and leveraging Figma AI to accelerate early exploration.

Translating Paper Complexity into Digital Simplicity

Digitizing paper-based reservation records meant creating a system that accommodated complex campsite availability (e.g., specific tent types, group caps, pending deposits) without overwhelming staff or guests.

Designing for Two Distinct Users

Balancing a warm, visual-first consumer interface to drive bookings with a clean, low-friction, data-dense layout for daily staff operations.

My Extended Role: Pitch & Presentation Strategy

Beyond designing the UI/UX, I collaborated directly with the sales team to build the final tender presentation deck:

Pitch Strategy & Sales Deck Collaboration

Partnered directly with the sales team to structure the tender presentation story. Designed high-impact visual mockups, responsive previews, and prototype walk-throughs that clearly demonstrated the business value of shifting from paper forms to digital direct bookings.

Core Deliverables

Delivered a complete B2C responsive landing page with primary search filters, high-density B2B dashboard concepts featuring real-time occupancy and calendar views, and the client-facing sales pitch deck.

Fast-Paced Key Takeaway

Mastered rapid-turnaround execution under a strict 1-week deadline, using AI-driven ideation in Figma to move swiftly from concept to polished pitch deliverables without sacrificing quality.
